This is a recording of my personal biggest concert to date. I was featured as a soloist in nearly every piece of the program, which included Song for Hope by P. Meechan and R. Anthony, Suite from Mass by L. Bernstein, and An American Elegy by F. Ticheli. Each of these are pieces almost centered around the principal trumpet and its solos.
Cliff Burton of Metallica is my biggest influence on bass by far. His work on the band's early albums before his untimely death are some of the most unique demonstrations of the instrument ever recorded. On the 38th anniversary of his passing, I recorded his infamous bass solo in my own style while closely replicating his monstrous tone.
In the last concert in which I performed during my time at RBV, I had the honor of performing the solo Gabriel's Oboe on my flugelhorn. This arrangement was done by my late trumpet hero Ryan Anthony, and when presented the opportunity to play a solo work, I jumped on the chance to perform one arranged by my favorite trumpeter.
